This map is showing where Sharpies are manufactured, or assembled, and where the manufactures get the parts to put Sharpies together. China, Germany, and Japan are all the major suppliers that ship Sharpie parts to the United States where they are put together and then distributed globally to be sold. Without globalization Sharpies wouldn’t be able to be produced because there would be no way to ship parts to the United States, and then the United States to retail stores to be sold. Sharpie’s contribution to globalization is important because it is supplying many jobs all over the world that contribute to make Sharpie markers.
